Central Thailand / Kanchanaburi / Wat Wang Wivegaram

From the Wat on a hill near Sangkhla Buri one has a nice view of the countryside where three streams form a small lake. Wat Wang Wivegaram is visited not only by the Thai people but also by many local tribal people, particularly Mons and Karens as well as by the Burmese. Its pagoda was built in a style similar to the temple of Bodhagaya in India; the Bot houses a large Buddha image made of marble.
