Built in the reign of King Narai the Great in 1666 as a reception hall for foreign ambassadors and visitors. It was situated in the royal garden surrounded by a small ditch which was decorated with 20 fountains. Royal banquets were held in this building in honour of French and Persian ambassadors in 1685 and 1687 respectively.
