Why Thailand is best

If your concern is cultural diversity, then Thailand is a good choice for you.

On the surface, Thailand is a modern Westernized country.

But below this appearance, Thailand is very different.

Thailand is one of the last monarchies in the World where the king actually has considerable influence.

And this is good so. And it should stay that way. Not every country in the world has to be a Western democracy where regularly, bad guys get elected by stupid masses. Adolf Hitler was democratically elected.

Thailand never was a colony of a Western country, and it uses a script that is totally different from Latin-based writing systems. That is very good, as it provides a barrier against brainwashing by European culture.

I think that for any American or European man, resettling in Thailand and finding a Thai wife (once or every now and then) is a very smart decision on what to do with one's life.

Ageism isn't pronounced in Thailand (which is a Buddhist country). A 60-year old Western man with a Thai wife in her early 20s? Thais don't see much wrong with it.

Also the other way around. A 60-year old Western woman with a Thai man in his early 20s?

Haha, if they have fun together.

Anyway, Thais will assume that the older partner in the match will take good care, financially, of the younger one.

American feminism would find this sickening. But American feminism isn't ruling Thailand.

Thai feminism is different. In relationships of women and men in Thailand, women usually have the upper hand. They are often the richer partner, too.

And when Thai women are in a relationship with a Western man, and the relationship breaks, you can be pretty sure that the Thai woman is richer than before.

It's OK. Anyway, the richer partner trades wealth for sexual happiness. Can't take your wealth with you to the grave, anyway. And sexual happiness is the only metaphysical sense in life.

How to go to Thailand?

If you are a newcomer, try Pattaya first. You get the feeling for how the Thai mind works differently from the Western mind. In Pattaya, you have a culture that is different from Western culture, but all Western amenities.

But the best of Thailand, you can only experience upcountry, and only if you go there in your own motorhome or camping van.

Because then, you can go and stay in villages where the culture, and the minds of the local people, are even more different from the West than in urban Thailand.

One of the great advantages of Thailand is the excellent road network. Even with a comparable large motorhome (six-wheeler), you can move practically anywhere, even to remote villages. Roads are on par or better than in most European countries.

Safety is not much of a concern. You can go anywhere in a motorhome, even alone, except to the southernmost Muslim provinces.

The Country and its People
