Further south on GaIle Road is the town of Ambalangoda, famous for its masks and puppets used for devil dancing. The Ariyapala mask factory is worth a visit. 98 kms south of Colombo, Hikkaduwa is the next major beach resort town. In the clear waters offshore are coral gardens which can be seen in a glass-bottomed boat or by diving up to them. You are advised not to buy or encourage sale of corals.
