Land Transportation
Land transportation
on Palawan is rather uncomfortable and dusty. There are no paved
roads outside towns and travelling often takes more time than
expected due to breakdowns, flooded roads and landslides. Trips
of several hours should always be startet in the mornings as buses
and jeepneys always leave early enough to reach their final destination
before late afternoon, even allowing for breakdowns.
Excursions
to places off the main roads, especially in the north, are often
not possible overland but can only be made by hired outrigger.
Which makes such excursions quite expensive.
