Nagarkot is located at about 32 km east of Kathmandu and is a hillstation that is reputed for its spectacular sunrise when the weather is clear. It offers spectacular view of the Everest and other mountains and also a good view of the Indrawati plain to the east.

It is famous site for over-night stay to watch the early morning sunrise. Nagarkot also offers a spectacular view of whole of the Kathmandu valley.
