SHE-4

('she' in the fourth tone)

There are some 26 standard Chinese characters that are spoken 'she', but there is no predominant sound-determining component.

设 = to set up

设计师 = she(4)ji(4)shi(1) = designer,architect

师 = shi(1) = teacher, person skilled in a certain profession

设置 = she(4)zhi(4) = to install, to set up

要保存密码设置更改吗? = Yao(4) bao(3)cun(2) mi(4)ma(3) she(4)zhi(4) geng(1)gai(3) ma(-)? = Do you want to save the password change?

Please note that 吗 officially has no tone. However, in Chinese, too, questions end with a rising tone.

社区 = she(4)qu(1) = community, residential area (also used for online communities)

舍 = house, hut

宿舍 = su(4)she(4) = dormitory

宿 = su(4) = to stay overnight

At least, the association with a dormitory is easy to remember for the character 宿. It is composed of a roof, 宀 , a sideman, 亻, and the character for 'one hundred', 百 .  It's obvious that when there are one hundred people under what is just a roof, then it must be a dormitory. The simplicity of the place is emphasised by the character for hut,舍 .
