Some 25 standard Chinese characters have a 'gang' pronunciation. Major sound-indicating components are: 冈 (9 occurences), 工 (7 occurences, even though the pronunciation of 工 is 'gong', not 'gang'), 亢 (5 occurences, even though 亢 itself is pronounced 'kang', not 'gang')
