Mount Nebo overlooks the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, the hills of Jerusalem and affords a magnificent view of Palestine. The Franciscan monks bought this site in the 1930s and have excavated the ruins of a sixth century church, which many believe was built over the burial place of Moses.
