Jordan

Other Attractions / Mount Nebo

Mount Nebo overlooks the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, the hills of Jerusalem and affords a magnificent view of Palestine. The Franciscan monks bought this site in the 1930s and have excavated the ruins of a sixth century church, which many believe was built over the burial place of Moses. Sixth century mosaics are on view here.

Mount Nebo is 25 miles (40km) from Amman.

In some Southeast Asian countries, the prospects are actually quite good, provided one knows how to go about it.
