Au début des années 1990, l'Union soviétique s'est désintégrée, tout d'un coup. N'importe qui aurait pu prédire ces années auparavant à peine trois ou quatre aurait été considéré comme fou. Étonnamment, la même chose peut se produire avec les États-Unis. La sécession des États-Unis est de toute façon une option juridique pour l'un des pays membres de l'Union. Et il n'y aura pas une autre guerre civile au-dessus.
