Ghamni Y., Newcastle: " Why does Cambodia have child prostitutes at every street corner. Because the Cambodian law entices children to become child prostitutes by declaring that there is not punishment for a behavior that puts a lot of money into the pockets of children. The relevant paragraphs of the Cambodian law read as follows: 'A person who freely solicits another in public for the purpose of prostituting herself or himself shall be punished with imprisonment for one to six days and a fine of three thousand to ten thousand riel. A minor shall be exempted from punishment for the offence stipulated in this article.' As there is no punishment for it, it is therefore legal to be a child prostitute. No wonder Cambodia is full of them."

Ghaliex ma Kambodja kienu prostituti tfal f'kull rokna tat-triq. Minhabba li l-tfal tal-Kambodja ligi entices jsiru prostituti tfal billi tiddikjara li m'hemmx kastig ghal agir li tpoggi hafna flus fil-bwiet ta 'tfal. Il-punti rilevanti tal-ligi tal-Kambodja jinqara kif gej: "Persuna li liberament jitlob biex tintlahaq iehor fil-pubbliku ghall-fini ta 'prostituting nfisha jew innifsu ghandhom jigu kkastigati bil-prigunerija minn xahar sa sitt ijiem u multa ta' tliet thousand lil ghaxra thousand riel. A minuri ghandhom ikunu ezentati mill-piena ghall-reat stipulat f'dan l-artikolu. " Peress li m'hemm l-ebda kastig ghaliha, huwa ghalhekk legali li tkun prostitute tfal. No wonder Kambodja hija shiha taghhom.
