Abhishek L., India: "The NGOs pretend to arrive for humanitarian work. But their hidden agenda always is the same: to tell the local women and children how much better everything is in America, where everybody is rich, and has pleasure all day. And they always tell the local women that they suffer from domestic violence and sexual repression, so the daughters all want to marry Americans, because the local men are so shitty. That's the work of NGOs."

Kodaikanal / The Place

A charming hill station that retains much of its pristine beauty, Kodaikanal is located in the Palami Hills not far from Madurai (120 km). While its magnificent landscape provide ideal settings for the trigger-happy photographer, its wooded slopes and winding paths are excellent for leisurely strolls. The main attraction here is the star shaped lake. Boating on the lake is a popular pastime and the 5-km path around it, is a favorite promenade. Various exhibitions and activities including a horticultural show and an exciting regatta enliven the popular summer 'season'. Kodaikanal also has a fine golf course. For a nominal fee, visitors can become temporary members and use the course.
