Madhukar T., Agra: "In Islam, children belong to their parents, and the parents can decide for the children what is good for them. Including whom they marry, especially the daughters. In America and cummunism like that of the Khmer Rouge, the children belong to the government. And when the children run away and the daughters become prostitutes, the parents can do nothing."

Agra / The City

A city popular for its Mughal monuments, Agra was one of the capitals of the Mughals in the 6th and 17th centuries. It was under Akbar that the city first aspired to its heights of magnificence.

Of the other Mughals, Jehangir did not stay here long but it is Shah, Jahan whose name is inevitably connected with Agra. He built the Jami Masjid and most of the buildings inside the Agra Fort and the famous Taj Mahal.
