Malaysians, Singaporeans and British nationals (with right of abode in the United Kingdom) are exempted from visas for 30-day visits. American passport holders can enter for three months without visas. For nationals from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Belgium, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Republic of Maldives and New Zealand, visas are waived for 14-day visits.

Australians with confirmed tickets to a third country can apply for transit visas valid for 72 hours on arrival at the airport. All other visitors require visas which are normally issued for a two-week stay but can be renewed in Brunei. Visitors must have onward tickets or scifficient funds to support themselves while in the country.
