The Country and its People / Geography
Bhutan Kingdom lies west of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh and east of Nepal. It is north of the India states of Assam and West Bengal and south of Tibetan region of China. Found in the heart of the high Himalayan mountain range, Bhutan is a land-locked country surrounded by mountains from north to west. Altitudes from the south ranges from 1000 to 4500 feet. From the more populated central regions, altitude range from 400 feet, in the east around Tashigang to a high of 17,000 feet over the highest pass. Thimphu the
capital altitude's is 7,700 feet.
